For a truly successful lip makeup, simply applying the lipstick by carefully watching the outline is not enough. Lips should be well hydrated, wrinkles perfectly faded, and the shape of the mouth well evidenced. Here are five steps that you should consider when you do your make-up, to obtain that sensual lips effect.
Regular exfoliation helps to keep the skin smooth and on an optimum hydration level. Crush 1-2 teaspoons of brown sugar and mix them with olive oil. Gently rub the lips for a few seconds, and then rinse with water. Finally, apply a thick layer of honey and leave to act 15 minutes.
STEP 2: watch the details
Now that the lips are hydrated, you can start your makeup. Apply the foundation and make sure you cover very well the wrinkles around the mouth. If the foundation layer is too thick you will obtain an unsightly effect. The wrinkles will be more evident. After you have applied the foundation gently dab your face with a sponge or a cotton pad and then apply a thin layer of powder.
STEP 3: Define their shape:
The outline lip pencil helps to correct the lips’ shape, if necessary. In addition, it prevents lipstick to go over the lips and helps it to last longer when it is applied all over the lips. Choose one or 1-2 shades darker than the lipstick. Make sure that the lip pencil’s color is similar to the lipstick color. Start from the middle of the upper lip to the extremes and correct every time you don’t do it properly, until you obtain the wanted effect.
Step 4: Apply the color
For more precision when you apply it and for a better control of the quantity, use a special lip brush. Apply the lipstick from the center of the upper lip and distribute the color so that the lips to be dressed uniformly. If you have thin lips choose lighter lipstick with a pearly texture.
STEP 5: Give volume
Finish your makeup with a lip-gloss in natural shades, applied in a thin layer. It makes the lips look fuller and gives freshness to the whole face. If you want to give volume to your thin lips, apply the contour first and add a drop of lip-gloss exactly in the middle of the lips. If you do not want to change the shade of your lipstick, but still want brilliance on your lips, choose a transparent lip-gloss and apply it in a thin layer using your fingers.
