Starvation. Why Is Not Good For Weight Loss

Of all the diets you choose follow, the one that involves starvation is the most harmful to the body. Even if you hear many celebrities saying they starve to lose weight and look good is not appropriate to follow them, as starvation can have huge negative effects on your body. Body’s attempts to cope with starvation
To work properly, the human body needs nutrients. The latter fall into two broad categories: macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). Food is the main source of nutrients needed to maintain the metabolism at optimal levels for proper functioning. During starvation, your body is deprived of nutrients, leading slowly to training deficiencies. But up there, the body goes through a shock phase, in trying to survive only with what is available, fat deposits and muscle mass. To continue to have energy, the body begins to burn fat and muscle mass, your metabolic rate decreases but more because there is no fuel for your body.

Starvation and Yo-Yo effect
As the body burns fat and muscle mass for energy, you will notice a pronounced weakening. What happens once you reach your desired weight?  You suddenly go back to normal diet and are assured that nothing bad can happen. Subjected to deprivation of essential substances, the body reacts to foods they promptly ran again. Hungry, it begins to store more and more new fat deposits, as a new measure of defense against starvation. This process is known as “yo-yo effect” extremely dangerous both on the silhouette, and on your psyche.

The negative effects of starvation
Dehydration – even if you supplement your water intake to replace the food, this does not mean you’re protected from dehydration. Keep in mind that much fluid comes from our diet, and once you cut it, your body will feel and act in its absence.
Fatigue and physical weakness – as a car does not start immediately if doesn’t have fuel, neither your body can not function normally when you fasted. Fatigue and physical weakness, inability to focus on tasks, failure to submit an intellectual effort are all consequences of starvation.
Weakened immune system – vitamins and minerals are essential for the body’s immune system. In their absence, you will be vulnerable to disease and can develop certain dangerous diseases such as stomach diseases.
Eating disorders – starvation, especially on the long term can lead to the onset of eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
Muscle loss – body feeds on muscles during starvation, so once you return to your normal diet you’ll be fatter than before.
